AJ Tamari is an NYC-based film photographer. Their love of photography began in their teens after stumbling across a darkroom enlarger at a thrift store, leading them to build a darkroom at home in a spare basement closet and kindling a lifelong love of eclectic film cameras and varied film mediums. While spending their 20s traveling and living abroad, photography became a method to process their ever-changing surroundings of landscape, people, culture, and experiences. Years later, a personal archive remains (and continues to grow), always reminding of the significant and enmeshed role photography has in memory and nostalgia.

AJ's work is driven by energy, intuition, and curiosity; always captivated by the way film is able to translate the nuances of a moment.
